50/50 WOMEN ON BOARDS
50/50 WOMEN ON BOARDS (WOB) AFRICAN CHAPTER
In addition, through our work with 50/50 Women on Boards (WOB) African Chapter, we help advance inclusive leadership, mentor women leaders, and craft communications strategies that amplify governance, advocacy, and gender equality initiatives.
A Flagship Platform for Women on Boards
The Nairobi Conversation is a flagship convening under the 50/50 Women on Boards (WoB) City Conversations series. Held annually in March during Women’s Month, in alignment with International Women’s Day (IWD), the Conversation brings together leaders committed to advancing board diversity, inclusive governance, and women’s leadership in Kenya.
Hosted in Nairobi, the Conversation has become a trusted platform for amplifying women’s voices, strengthening board readiness, and shaping practical pathways toward gender parity in leadership and governance.
Creating Space for Inclusive Governance and Boardroom Dialogue
50/50 WoB City Conversations convene influential leaders, experienced board directors, and aspiring female board members for candid, solutions-oriented dialogue on inclusive governance. Through expert panels, facilitated discussions, and high-value networking, participants gain insight into emerging boardroom trends, learn directly from accomplished women leaders, and build the relationships and confidence needed to progress on their board journeys.
The Nairobi Conversation 2026: From Awareness to Action
The Nairobi Conversation 2026, scheduled for March 2026, will continue the tradition of marking International Women’s Day with meaningful action. Building on the global call to advance equal rights, power, and opportunities for women and girls, the 2026 edition will focus on deepening access, influence, and board readiness for women in Kenya.
The Conversation will also address the systemic barriers that continue to shape boardroom representation, moving beyond dialogue to practical strategies for change.
Building a Pan-African Pipeline of Board-Ready Women
Through The Nairobi Conversation and the wider 50/50 WoB Africa City Conversations and Tours, the initiative has reached and engaged over 500 women across multiple African markets. Collectively, these platforms are helping to build a growing, connected pipeline of board-ready women and allies committed to advancing inclusive leadership across Africa.
A Curated, High-Impact Leadership Convening
The 2026 Nairobi Conversation will convene 50–70 women from across industries and career stages, including senior executives, founders, professionals, and future board leaders. Previous editions have been supported by partners and sponsors such as Trade Development Bank, Uncover Skincare, Nation Media Group, and Endeavor, reflecting strong cross-sector commitment to advancing women’s leadership and governance in Kenya.
Advancing Collective Responsibility in Boardrooms
Each edition of The Nairobi Conversation is designed not only to support individual advancement into board roles, but also to foster collective responsibility—ensuring that women who enter boardrooms actively contribute to widening access and opportunity for others.
